Default Grabby Clutch

I've been racing my bike alot lately and the clutch is starting to get where you can't slip it. The lever is ajusted properly but when the clutch starts to grab it grabs all at once. Would like to no how to fix this and if this is a common problem.2006 gsxr 1000

Sounds like you've burnt the steels. Its really not a big deal, at least to me, I burn a set up every 2 months or so, its part of drag racing. A whole new clutch is around 200-225, get an oem not a barnett or vesrah, you cant beat oem clutches for drag racing. If its not slipping you can get away with just replacing the steels, cost you about 7 bucks a piece, youve got 9 so roughly 60 bucks you'll be back in business.

if the steels are not warped, just bead blast them or sand them real well till the black is gone and they look metallic again. works like new, been doing it for years

Thanks. Should the steels be covered under warranty.

No clutch steels are prolly not covered, esspecially if they know you've been drag racing it. I wouldnt recomend bead blasting or sanding them either, If you drag race alot. Ive seen sanding them make them grabby to, you need a little bit of slip to launch. You cant beat new steels. You might want to check at bracksracing.com for his clutch mod kit for the 05-06 1000, im not sure what it does because I have an 02 but alot of guys use them and seem to really like them.

Im looking on schnitzracing.com right now and a complete clutch kit for your bike is only 184.95, not bad, cheaper then mine.

Check with your dealer about it getting enough oil, mine has been binding up since new and they have just told me they are going to change a washer in the clutch to let more oil in.
