could this be true? last time i checked duhamel barely hit the 200 mph mark.

Or the cop's math ability is out of spec!

They gave the other guy a ticket for 111 but they didn't take him to jail and no wreckless driving ticket...but he would have done more then slowly pull away if he was doing nearly twice the other guys speed.....
Course had they been in cali they would have both been arrested for wreckless, excessive speed, speed contest, driving with out license, violating terms of their permit if they had that, wreckless endangerment, eluding police ( cause we all know they couldn't stop right away or seen the dude for a while and why not tack on a few extra charges....

Not to mention it would have been on tv and if he was in la he would have gotten beaten as soon as he stopped.

I'm going with you because I was just reading in roadracing world that on the front straight of one of the tracks it was a mile long straight, bostrom on his honda with a tail wind was hitting like 197. so I don't belive that a street model would do more than that.

that could be very true. something is wrong here, whether its the markers on the road, his stop watch, him operating the watch. Something is wrong there.

nice guess but your wrong
road racing bike aren't made for top speed shit...
this bike had 8k in mods...(when i find the other site i'll show you that part)

The stop-watch method is inaccurate at high speeds. 2 tenths of a second over a 1/4 mile sampling is a 10mph difference.

GO HONDA!!!

On a track with a mile long front straight and a 140+ MPH turn 1 and 2, top speed is a big part in the race. and those bikes have way more than $8k in mods.

I'm sure he can pay for his ticket, the reason he was driving without a license is because it was suspended, not cause he couldn't afford it...

yeah, your right, but top speed depends on the track...they said this guy was riding next to his friend (supposedly his friend was already doing 110+), then he "punched it" which could easily (with the right $8K invested) go to 190 (and yes the 205mph is off) in that distance

Oh I don't doubt you could get to a actual 190, but that last 15 mph is hard to get to without completely redoing the motor and trans.

getting rid of the lights and mirror is a couple more mph right there...and it wasn't doin 205, probably more around 195...plenty of bikes break 200mph with minimal mods...hell nitrous is relatively cheap, so are turbos if you do it yourself and don't use to much boost...full exhaust properly tuned...theres alot you can do for under 8k...give me 8k, hell i'll even buy a 1KRR cause i'm a nice guy, and with that $8k you give me, i will give the newspaper articles saying another RR was witnessed doin over 200 mph (of course they WOULDN'T catch me though )

Hey the guy posted on cbr somthing.com, the one that got the ticket, and said that he was on an RC51 and it was impossible that he was doing that speed because when he had his bike on the dyno it topped out at 145. He says that cop is full of shit.

Subject: Fw: 205 mph ticket on an RC 51?

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor..._fe_st/205_mph
_ticket_3

Mike, I called this guy Pat Hahn of the State of Minn Motorcycle Safety.
I was shocked to actually get a call back, and essentially toldl Pat
that the state of Minn Department of Public Safety Spokesman Kevin Smith
was full of hooey by sticking to his story in the AP that the RC51 was
going 205 MPH. I told Pat the bike is not capable of 205 unless the
gearing were changed and the motor was blown. Pat called back and after
a brief discussion, I told him that anyone who knows anything about
bikes would know flat out the bike is not capable of 205. Furthermore,
it was a speeding timed by hand, from a moving plane, of a moving
motorcycle - come on. I told Pat that this spokesman guy would be the
laughing stock of the country... for sticking to this story. Pat said "I
warned Kevin several times not to stick to the story and that the RC 51
is not capable of 205 mph, and he insisted on sticking to the story,
heck Nicky Hayden has trouble making 205 at Daytona...".

Pat told me a lawyer offered to represent the kid for free and there is
a chance when they prove the bike can not do 205, based on the method of
timing the bike through the trap, the kid may get completely off.

It was refreshing to have a person working for the state be honest and
not say what was or would be politically correct. Plus we talkd bikes
briefly and he said he met the editor of one of your books.

I told Pat that my read is this guy Smith wants to capitolize on the
public's disgust of seeing stunt riders on public roads. He said there
is
a strong probability that is the case, plus he said this guy does not
want to go back on his word and will risk making himself look like an
ass.... too late.

Anyway thought you would be interested.

This Pat was a real nice guy.

Terry O
