yeah its about 109 horse with top speed about 160...ive only had mine up to 130 indicated on speedo so far (just yesterday infact)...so itll only be a matter of time (and safe conditions of course) before i top it out...but reaching that speed will be a ways off. Maybe towards the end of summer. Just to see what it really is

Mine claimed I was doing 165 in 5th one night. But I know the speedo's are off. I can tell. I may end up getting a speedo healer. Wonder why its so hard for manufacturers to make motorcycle speedo's work correctly.
I have heard 165ish is the absolute max for the 600. But the speedo will say high 170's.

I have only had mine up to around 125-130 which is obviously not topped out...(was concentrating on road. not the speedo) but 190 sounds absolutely riduculous

Okay, in 1986, the top speed for a literbike was only about 155; 600s were doing good to hit 135-140. Don't believe me? Go find the last issue of Sport Rider in which they have pictures so you don't have to actually read... The speedo reading 190? The speedos don't even read that high, even if you're actually going that fast on a current 1000. The speedo stops at 186 no matter what you do, bucko. Put the crack pipe down and back away from the motorcycle.

Hey What do you guys think my 03 GSXR 1000 does on top end? Its true top end with a pipe and stock chain and gearing? I have had it bouncing off the rev limiter a couple of times but don't believe the speedo and never GPS it before.

I Will Be More Then Happy To Scan These Time Slips And Send Them To You! Also I Am Adding A Turbo Bike Research T-20 Turbo Kit To It! Should Put It At About 139 Rwhp On Race Gas! And that is with no motor work done stock cams, springs, pistons, crank, ect.. all stock internals.

You can not go faster than what your (stock) gearing allows you to. Bikes have enough power to get up there, but you will not be able to go faster than what gearing allows. The only way around it is to change your gear, or kill the rev limiter.
Top speed on the new 600 with stock gearing is like 164mph (true speed, not indicated), which means, 6th gear hitting the rev limiter. It doesn't matter if you add 1000HP to the bike, the top speed will still be 164mph unless you change the or remove the rev limiter allowing the bike to rev higher.

Wow. Airbag is better than Ricky Gadson. If I were better than Ricky Gadson, I would expect Suzuki to be paying me to ride the bike...
Airbag - the speedo will not read higher than 186 even on a 600. And if you're making it in 10.6xx seconds, your speed should be more like 150, like a liter bike. Unless you're talking about the 1/2 mile... You're full of it, and we all know it. Why can't you admit it?

every year sport rider tests all the bikes, in both classes. They post top speed in the article also. I read 166 mph (I think)for the '06. The '07 wouldn't more than a couple mph more. I know it was in the 160s. If you go on sport riders website, you could probably find it.

the 750's are barely faster than the 600's in the 1/4. Do they feel a lot different and faster on the street over the 600's?

A lot of that is due to the wheelie limit in WOT acceleration. Below about 100-120, all 3 of them can power wheelie, especially in a 1/4 mile scenario. Somewhere in there the difference in power will keep the 600s nose on the ground while the 750 and 1000 can keep accelerating with the front wheel skimming the ground. Above 120 is the only place you'll really be able to use full power acceleration to get away from a 600 with a liter. But, bimbling around town, in higher gears just getting from one stoplight to the next, there is a whole lot of difference. Maybe not as much between the 600 and 750, but the 1000 will simply walk away from a 600 in a roll on.

I have been blown away by several liter bikes. I would be in a straight at almost WOT and vroom there goes one of my buddies on their r1's or gixxer 1000's leaving me in the dust. I am as good as some of them in the twisties but in the straights they pass me like its nothing.

That Busa seems like it would be a little faster than whats listed here....
Me the fastest I have went on my bike was 155.... Then I back off of it... I am sure I had more to go... but when that 155 kicked in, I backed off....

It's not hard for them to be accurate they just like to beef up their numbers... everyone remembers the R6 fiasco with 17,500 redline right. I've read the K7 600 does 158 gear limited, that's at the track with a radar.

I have had mine up to an indicated 153. But like PILOT said, who really cares, I know I don't really care to go that fast again(unless on a track).
