Default Heli Bars opinion

I have a 2005 750, anyone use heli bars on this year? Whats it feel like and does it really save your back? Thinking about a street fighter but Im not sure if I want to go straight up with dirt bike handle bars... Opinons on Heli bars or LSL triple and dirt bike bars? What are your thoughts guys?

My friend has an 05 600 with big bars(dirtbike bars) and I have rode it a few miles. It is very comfortable and a much different ride. It depends on how you ride. If you are gonna stunt or just ride in straight lines such as highways or commute a lot it is a good idea. If you like to hit the twisties then do not do this. It is a very different ride and will change your whole style of riding. I hope this is what you are asking about but if not this is what I think about big bars. Peace.

I think heli bars would be better than the dirt bike bars, but I want to know if anyone has experience with them on a 2004 or newer. thanks for the info

I put a set of heli bars on my 2006 gsxr 1000 and they are by far the best investment i have made for the bike sence i bought it. They make you sit more upright and give you better leverage for wheelies to

I would love to have helibars, but they don't make them to fit my bike so I am considering convertibars. A friend of mine has helibars on his 1000 and loves them.

I recently put a set of Heli's on my k7 1000 and have been pleased with the results. Just looking at someone with a set isn't that obvious that something is different about the position, but actually riding with the Heli's feels much better. Definitely was worth the investment for me.

Cant wait to hear how they turn out. Been thinking of getting them for my 05 750 as well. Let us know how the install is and how big of a difference it makes. My bikes position only seems to bother me riding two up since i dont feel like i have as much freedom to move around like when riding solo.

Default heli bars

the bars were easy to put on. the hardest part was cutting this metal piece that holds your brake cable in place so the cable would clear with more space due to the bars going back an 1 1/2". That was the only bitch about it. I have taken them off and on abotu 3 times in the last 2 months and trying to mount a streetfighter light. So I havent really rode the bike that much since I have no light, But I have ridden it around my neigborhood and it is way more comfortable so I havent put any serious miles yet. Once I get a light I will put some miles on it and let you guys know. For now, highly recommended! Next project GP style exhaust.

Default Helibars vs. Convertibars

Would you prefer Helibars to Convertibars or vice versa? I am looking at getting a pair for my 08 1000.
Thanks

On the gsxr 1000 Helibars don't require any mods, like new cables. There is a significant difference in price between the two. If prices aren't important, you should be able to achieve more flexibility with the Convertibars from what I've read since they are adjustable; but will require new cables due to this fact.
