Default Difference in 04-05, 06-07 GSXR 750?

I currently ride a 06 SV650, and have done a few track days, and am looking at moving up to a GSXR 750. Price is mostly my limiting factor, looking to stay at or under $7,000.
Can someone please give me some advice on the model year differences between 04-505 and 06-07?
As far as ergos, I am 6'4", 230 lbs.
Thank you very much,
Chris

For you, ergos will very much favor the 04-05 series bikes. 06 and later bikes are a complete redesign, and have a more compact riding position, although technically they may be better track bikes.

Like Mr. T says............the 04-05 750s are bigger bikes than the 06-07 750s. AND the 04-05 750s have more low and mid-range punch than the 06-07 750s. The 04-05 750s are lighter also. The older bikes are also easier to wheelie. The 06-07s feel like they may handle better due to their more compact design. The bigger bike may be more comfortable for you.

They've pretty much covered the differences. But, I've had both and ridden both at the track. I am only 6'1", but I very much preferred the 05 to the 06 in terms of physical size. The two also handle slightly differently at the track. The 05 was so much more stable, especially on the brakes, that I could outbrake most other people in my group (Intermediate). The 06 allowed me to pass more on the corner exits because it turned so much more quickly. Even though the 06 is a few pounds heavier, the mass is more centralized, so it doesn't feel as heavy when turning. I couldn't feel a difference in braking, but I never got to ride them back to back with equal brake setups, etc.

Ok, thanks.
Man, it is a good thing that I am not in a hurry to decide! I tend to really research things, and you guys are really helping me out!
I just wish I could actually ride a 750! I am headed to a place that sells tons of bikes, and has tons of 600s in all model years, so I can actually see which is more comfortable for me to sit on for a while.
Again, I will most likely be doing about 3 (maybe 4) track weekends a year, so it is not a priority, but is very important to me, as it is very addictive!
Thanks
