Default Just Heard about the 06 Yamaha 600

I know this is a gsxr site, but just wanted to give a heads up. I work at Siemens and a friend of mine here is a old college buddy with the head of marketing at Yamaha American Motors. He told him today a little about the new R6. He put it into words like this. He has 05 r1 and when the 06 r6 is released he will be getting rid of the r1 for the new r6. He wouldnt give exact details, but said the bike will blow you away. It will be released in the usually blue and red colors, but also in a color which he wouldnt say that you wouldnt believe and there isnt a color like it out there. Oh yeah he said the new r6 is projected to be about a 1000 or more dollars then its current msrp. But he would say much else. I was just shocked when he was telling me that a rep of yamaha would trade in his r1 for the new r6.

have a good one

But why he didn't give you a reason.... It can't have more power than the R1 maybe he was just trying to pump you up or something.

He said the reason was the bike is going to be that good. He wouldnt give specifics, just said the bike is so awesome I will be getting rid of the R1 for it. That was it, they wont give details till september i think

For current trackday I could see why, but hell the only r6 i would get is the Orient express R6 that is pumping 127 at the rear and its for sale. You can get cheaper insurance with the r6 he is talking about and hell what more can you do to make these better on the street?

Real surprised! Each year a diff manufacturer comes out with something a lil better than there comp. You'll see GSXR will then counter with a 600 of there own. Just a note, a friend has a 99 R6 that will fly, especially in the eighth.

yeah your right every year the big four someone comes out with something that blows you away. I wouldnt trade my GSXR for anything, but it is cool to see what all the companys are doing. Because you know if the r6 does come out and whip peoples A**, the following year the other companys will counter. So you can hope they keep getting better, it just means everyone else will also.

If you was closer I would love to take you up on that bet
I have a gixxer and gixxer all the way, but being realistic is what i am speaking about. Its alot more the rider than the bike these days. I got something that roars under my tank to keep all those other models away as well

I agree, thats what keeps the bikes getting better. the fact that other companies improve so to stay on to improvement is needed.
wouldnt surprise me if the R6 dominated for a time.

Talking 600s

The power of these 600s over the last 10 years has been amazing. They keep getting lighter and faster. Competition between the manufactorers is a good thing. WE benefit with better made, faster bikes!!! On the street a 600 is more than enough for any of us.
