97 600 frame with 98 750 engine
Tuned, and calabrated carburators.

im located in raleigh nc and extremely interested in that bike, i have the same damn area code for the phone number too. the only problem is i have a 97600gsxr that i need to sell first how many miles does the bike have etc?

Please provide more info...The guy I bought it from on Ebay swore up and down that it was? Forgive me if I am wrong, I'm not trying to get over on anyone.

can you give some more info on the bike, if it stalls out etc how many miles etc etc, how the transmission shifts how many miles on the swapped engine, i emailed you, from the .ncsu.edu account you can just reply to that

I recently did a compression test of the motor because we could bring our own bikes to a beginner motorcycle mechanic course I was taking at a community college. All test diagnosed that the engine was mechanically sound. As far as the guages, I think the speedometer is off approximately 10-15 mph due to the way I have the bike geared for low and mid range power. One thing that you probably need to know is that I have my bike set up with the gears going 1 up 5 down rather than the stock 1 down 5 up, but this can easily be reversed to your liking. To be honest, i'm not really sure how many orginal miles the engine I swapped into it had on it. All I can vouch for is that it has never given me any problems mechanically, or made me question its reliability. The only negative I have to say about the bike is that since i've had it for about 3 years now, I sometimes have to put the kick stand up for it to start in neutral. I think thats the only thing I was too lazy, or thought it was too minor to worry about. The transmission does not slip, nor do any of the gears miss.

I have a 97 gix 750, and I do believe that in 98 they became fuel injected..hmmmmmmmmm correct me if im wrong, oh another thing, set the gears back the way they were......

98 750 was the first year that it was fuel injected, so is that bike a fi or is it a 97 carberated motor im just trying to clear this up for other people i wish i had the money bro id buy her up off you because mine is not running right now good luck

the 98 was the first year fuel injected my boy has one...that motor is NOT a 98 if its not fuel injected
