Uniondale man charged with murder for road rage incident

BY MITCHELL FREEDMAN
STAFF WRITER

September 24, 2005, 10:49 PM EDT

A Uniondale man was charged with murder after he intentionally smashed his car into a motorcyclist in an apparent incident of road rage in Uniondale, Nassau police said.

Police identified the victim as Igor Kruk, 24, of 253 Lenox Ave., Uniondale. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, Patrick DeJean, 41, of 1307 Maynard St., Uniondale, fled the scene after the accident, police said, but was followed by a friend of Kruk who stopped DeJean's vehicle while witnesses called police.

DeJean was arrested a short time later and charged with second-degree murder and leaving the scene of an accident. He is scheduled to be arraigned this morning in First District Court in Hempstead.

The incident began on Front Street in Hempstead shortly after 4 p.m. Police said Kruk and another motorcycle rider, whom they did not identify, passed DeJean's Honda, then it passed them, going back and forth.

They were on Marvin Avenue, about 300 feet south of Hempstead Turnpike near Hofstra University, when DeJean's Honda struck Kruk's motorcycle in the rear, police said.

The accident is still under investigation.

wow, hopefully they find him guilty, and make him actually serve a sentence...that would be good. The guy that hit and ran on me didn't think a thing of it, he actually was at work when I showed up about 4 hours later, that is how I got him. Anyway...people don't think for a moment about how their actions affect the lives of others. maybe some 15-life would change that...I don't know

Yeah, justice though is a rare thing these days, they have replaced justice with sensitivity, and second chance, and rehabilitation...fuck that, fry em all...

Long Island, NY

I was out riding that night, and when I got back, my GF
told me that news she saw on UPN9 News.

She said that one of the bikes "looked" like either an R6 or R1
because it looked like my cousin's R6.......

... and that it "exploded"... front tire and fork were separated off the bike, etc..

If you like to cut cars off 'coz they're too slow for you, maybe you should watch out, coz you could be next. . . .who knows how many "psychos" like that out there driving. . . .

you know thats very true.... last night when i was leaving work at 11pm there was this chick in a red volvo who i swear was trying to hit me.... we where coming around a turn about to merge on the fwy and its a pretty sharp turn.... i was about 1 car length in front of her and there was 2 cars trying to race each other to the merge section of the road.. a lifted truck and a mustang.. they were both in the right lane and i was getting into the left lane since its the carpool lane and i see the volvo riding my ass.. we take the turn and im leaning pretty deep to keep my speed and make the turn (since im about to merge on the fwy) and this bitch starts to straight come up on my left driving out of control cause she is taking the turn way to damn fast for her volvo.. she didn't dbreak nothing just came up on my left and i had to quickly mid turn leaning lean some more so i went into the other lane and avoid being hit by her....

then i flew by her and flipped her off.. and laughed when she nearly ran into the back of the truck (the mustang beat him) cause she was to focused on me...

but afterwards i was thinking about it... man was this bitch really trying to hit me.. what if she hits me (i lost my phone i cant call no one) what if she hits me and its dark and some other car hits me....

how can i explain this to my parents...

and later i was pissed i didn't punch her window out as she tried to catch me on the fwy (haha yah right) when i took off to put as much space between me and her as possible

I am sure we scare the shit out of drivers when we fly by out of nowhere! Or when we pass them on a 2 lane road.............but damn..... :2hard to run the biker over and kill him??? What was the guy thinking, oh I will just hit him a little bit just to hurt him. That is why when I pass somebody, I keep going and don't stick around to see the look on their faces......... and the kid was only 24. May he haunt that dumdass for the rest of his life!!!!

THATS CRAZY, and scary to think about, i was in a road rage incident on saterday not on my bike, but it could have escalated worse. some punk kids were blowing kisses at my girl and throwing stuff at my car, the looked like they had guns so i called the cops. all over nothing they were doing this.

He'll probably get a reduced sentance or some BS like that. But we do a wheelie and it's straight to jail. Go figure.

Does that mean they were carrying visible guns, that they had bulges under their shirts where guns could have been hidden, that you are speculating, or that you are just letting personal prejudice decide? Just curious...

Default man thats wrong

i think we all need to be more careful though because we are more vunerable compared to a car and i think what it is that they feel power over us cause there in a car and we are on a bike but that shit aint cool we get hit and they run, i here a lot of storys of how people found the person later and that shit is rediculous they should be put in jail for attempted murder cause thats what there doing. cops think that its our problem cause we choose to ride crotch rockets, but notice they dont act like this to people on harley`s. as far as the clothes thing, its not the clothes its the attitude these dumb ass people put out but when they get shot the family is all like he is a nice guy well then why did he get shot is always what i am thinking........
