The 2006 R6 is three hundred more than the GSX-R, so if you must buy an '06, you still come out ahead with the Suzuki. As for me, I'm just getting my '05 600 broken in. It's only got 13,000 miles on it. Plus, I don't feel any real need to upgrade every year. If you do, have a ball and let us all know how fun it is.

Hey Chango.......I am not upgrading because I have an 05 and just think the 06's are badass (which they are though)......I am buying as my 04 was stolen and I have no bike and want one, and thought I would now wait to see what the 06's looked like before purchasing one...............not everyone wanting an 06 is just looking to upgrade an already bad ass bike........had my 04 not gotten stolen I would have ridden it probably for years or maybe even until it fell apart...

is it me or do I just have bad eyes. The 06 gixxer 1000 looks smaller then the 05 gsxr 750. I cant find the specs on the sizes. I went to look at the 05 1000 and it looks smaller. can someone confirm the size difference. thanks

It has a short exhaust, it comes out right behind/under the rearset. Most of the muffler is underneath the bike.

Yeh yeh cool colours. 750 looked the goods but hey they'll be old news soon. I got the k5 600 and just puttina full titanium arata system,pc3 usb,dna air filter and a wheelie tastic map to boot. Why have a stock new bike when for 2 grand less you can have " THE " bike. It's great to see new products but hey soon as you buy it it's second hand and 3 g's straight off the top. My 2 cents.

GSX-R600 K6 includes a slipper clutch??!! Also appears to have a servo valve in the exhaust to boost mid-range, much like the '05 Ninja 636. Reading the Kawi forum, when you switch to an aftermarket pipe, you lose the valve, and the mid-range punch that it provided.

so anyone think or hear if suzuki is going to bump the red line up to keep up wtih the R6? the R6 is now using the same engine dimensions as suzuki. I would have to look at a dyno chart of the R6 before I bought it. I dont want to have to ride around at 11 all day just to take off.

But when does the power band really kick in on the new R6? Seems like they bumped up the Redline 3-4k...but I'm guessing the power of the bike starts a whole 3-4k later O_o

Oh also I read that the 750 is going to have a lot more mid range power this time around. Though the top end is going to suffer a little...which is fine by me cause I like having the low/midrange power.

Im sure the new R6 will be fine. The bike im sure has been geared accordingly and with the exup valve, im sure feels great down low. Yamaha has put out what seems to be a great bike this year with a lot of press, suzuki seems to be more quiet about there 06, we will just have to see in January, untill then let the bench racing continue
