Hard to say if this is a good idea without knowing the bikes intended purpose......are you trying to set it up for the drag strip? Is this going to be an extended swingarm show bike? (No offense but, I Still don't understand the need to do a 9.5 inch stretch on a stock 97 SRAD. I suppose that’s a whole different topic.)
Please keep in mind, Part of the issue with lowering a street bike too much is the reduction in ground clearance and the added risk of damaging the oil pan or exhaust as a result.
I also suppose it's safe to assume that you're not interested in a bike that will be able to take turns or achieve serious lean angles.
