Default Rear Tire

I have a 2008 600. I noticed that my rear tire seems a tad bit on the small side. What are you guys using?

How big of a tire can I use?

180/55 puts down more rubber in a turn than a 190/50 also it cost less and weights less so it helps with acceleration.

Stock tires size should be a 180/50.

First number "180" is the size of the tire and the 2nd number "55" is the height of the tire. Which effects how much rubber you lay down in a turn.

WRONG, 180/55/17 is stock size for 08 600.

^^^ Forgive my ignorance.

180/55 is the tire you should be buying weather it came stock or not. No need for a 190.

I looked at my tire and it's a 180.

I used to ride a Katana and it had a smaller rear tire. I upgraded and didn't really notice a difference.

I just think it looks better to have a fat rear tire on there.

If you're going on looks rather than safety/performance then stick whatever you want on there, otherwise stick with the 180/55.

Don't put a 200 on the stock 180 rear.

You can go to a 190/60 if you want without sacrificing the profile. Don't put a 190/50 on it. Go with the 60

Bought my bike with the 200 on it and bought new tires last year, kept a 200 since that's what it had. They sucked on the twisties this past weekend. I kept thinking it was me until I read up on it. Can't wait till I can swap down to the 180 or 190.
