Which GSXR 600 for the money?

Looking to get a GSXR600 for the track. I get way too much variance in horsepower figures.
Im coming off a 1000, so I really would like the stronger of the 600's available.

I'll probably use a 1000 swingarm and my 1000 BST's on the 600 if possible.
My 1K is an 07, and from feedback, a 1000 07 swingarm will fit the 07-08 600 as well as the 1000
wheels. But later model 600's Im sure I can mod to make work.

Any input on the original question appreciated.

Out of curiosity, why?

Wouldn't it be easier to just get a used set of lighter wheels for the 600?

If you want a stronger 600, you want a Kawasaki 636. The GSX-Rs aren't going to be much different from each other after 2006 power-wise.

GSXR 1000: Always purchase a liter bike, because it is the most economic choice.

Well I have 3K in the BST's and I can find a swingarm for 50-100$. Seemed easy enough.

Why a 600 instead of a 750 if your looking for power I think I’d get a 750. I’m not trying to be a smart xxx , I’m learning like everyone else?

If the swingarm will fit the 07, it'll fit the 06 as well. k6-k7 was a generation, and k8 was a new bike. Not sure when that next generation stopped. But, always go newer. Parts are getting awfully hard to find for my k5.

Oh, and contact BST about the wheels. Might have a spacer kit to make it work. The 1000 uses a wider wheel, so your chain alignment might be a big issue.

2011 is the start of the next gen.
not sure if swingarm/frame dimensions allow swapping or not.

That is always another possibility, it just depends on what they're going for.

The 2011 engine got a lot better(more power). The engines from 06-18 are all interchangeable, given you swap the intake boots for that particular set of throttle bodies you have. Or you get all of the electronics for that particular year.
