300 cca battery

Why did my 2016 Suzuki GSXR-600 come with a 300 CCA battery, but the replacement is 200 CCA or less?
Should I get the lesser CCA or will it make for more issues?

I don't know what the bike actually requires, but the reputable aftermarket companies rarely get it that wrong. I'm seeing batteries listed with 145 CCA. What make/model was the factory battery?

According to the fiche, it's an FTX9-BS. Which is a Furukawa battery with 135CCA. Where'd you get 300 from?

300CCA is overkill. Personally, I like the Bikemaster TrueGel batteries. I've had great success with them.

Was just wondering why a bike would be sold with so much CCA, if it overkill.

Honestly, sounds like the wrong battery was in it. The factory parts fiche said it should have been less than half of that. And a 2016 needing a battery now.... you either did something wrong, or that battery contributed to it's own death. Don't overthink it. Get a good battery and go ride.
