GSXR1000 crank rebuild 2002

Hello I have just introduced myself in the chat forms. I am just about to send the crank into APE for rework due to a spun bearing in rod 1. I am tempted to have them lighten and remove the balancer gear. Its just going to be a road bike so I would be doing it just because. Anybody out there who has done this to a non race bike. Pros / Cons?

It helps and will make it vibrate more but it will rev faster and pull harder. It's an easy way to make it accelerate faster while you already have the motor apart so why not? I'm planning on doing the same thing to my drag bike once I start rebuilding the motor.
