Some updates on my K2 750 I crashed last year

So this bike has undergone surgery a few times since some of you last saw it. Everything was done by myself and friends who I work on cars and bikes with. She's got a lot of character but has had over 5000 miles out in her since she was crashed with very few issues. Originally I was going to put everything in a 600 frame since I bought a k3 for cheap, but someone offered me sufficient money for me to part with it. So since I already had the 750 torn down to just the engine, frame and swingarm I decided to prime paint, and clear coat it. Came out pretty good.

So a gear in the electronic STVA motor went(my fault), so we just removed the secondary butterflies and called it a day. Runs fine just needs an extra minute to warm up before it has power.

Went with a vortex -1/+6 steel sprockets for 16t/48t, black EK 520 chain. The 750 keeps up with my K9 1000 for the most part until you shift into 3rd gear, then gets roasted, tops out around 160mph.

For paint I was limited with what I could get locally so rustoleum high heat black for the frame and duplacolor red for the subframe and wheels. The front wheel has formed a bubble recently after riding on a 95 degree day but isnt too bad. Clear coated with 2k high gloss. I did 1 and done coats on everythinf since I couldn't be bothered with this bike, just wanted it rideable for now.

Reason for wanting to swap frames is after the crash this bike wants to go right ever so slightly when you take your hands off the bars. Isn't much but it is there. Ride's fine and haven't had any issues. And believe me those 5000 miles were hard, on the rev limiter, using all of the tires miles lol. She had 19xxx at the time of the crash now closing in on 26000.

Only real complaint about this bike is it has some hesitation around 4k and 9k RPMs, so if you don't know how to tame the bike and try to power through it you'll find yourself in a wheelie or off the road once you hit like 4500 rpm. Still working on that. Pump tested fine, I have another set of injectors I'm going to try. Still have a spark plug stuck in the head if any of you remember. The hex on it is completely rounded out. Hoping it lasts the life of the bike if not I have another 750 motor.

So now is time for the pics. The stickers add 1 horse power each. Has a yoshi slip on that was on the 600 parts bike. Friend dumped the bike a month ago in a parkinglot and the label broke off. Sounds great though lol. Even thought the bike is fairly shitty somehow I get complimented on it pretty often when I ride it. Have to say the powerband with the sprockets makes it much more scary than my 1000. Lol

And some more! First picture was its maiden voyage after being put mostly together. My friend is the rider. Red wheels were put on later because the bearings were shot. Fairings weren't really fastened all of the way until the end lol. One of the members will probably recognize his old 600 fairings on this bike, haven't cared to spend $500 on them and have the tank painted yet.

All in all it's been a great bike to me. I love having something different than my k9 1000 to ride. It's lighter, more comfortable to ride for longer in some aspects like the seat position except it has a bit if vibration which could be fixed. Has more usuable power than my 1000, can really give her the beans in all if the gears, it'll wheelie a little bit but as long as you're laying on it won't come up too high. With the bigger rear sprocket you can chop up first and second gear wheelies pretty easy now with no clutch. And can clutch up in 1st gear by only bumping the revs up by a couple thousand, same with second. Used to have to bringnher up to around 12k now it's only around 6k. Definitely a wicked ride. If you can ride this thing you can ride anything. It isn't smooth at all. Have to slip the clutch to turn it from a stop or do it in 2nd gear. Throttle is very twitchy. I enjoy the powerband much more now just wish I could get it to smooth out a bit. Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way. My k9 1000 is getting a driven sprocket set from motomummy in the coming weeks, stock gearing, aluminum rear(don't care if I have to replace it often I'm crazy with my chain maintenance) and a gold 520 mvxz chain, as well as a new clutch soon after that. So I will be on the 750 for the next few weeks since the original chain on the 1k is stretching too fast for me to ride it safely. It's at 15,600 miles currently.

I really do love this bike. I have a lot of memories with it and would like to keep it running.

Pretty cool story pretty awsome bike, I have a k6 1000 now I had a 00 750y simular colors to your blue and white plastics it started to give me issues once they started I never fully figured out why and it did not run 100 percent again but I really miss the 750 i liked the color scheme I always got complements even tho it was far from perfect a ton more than the 1000, I miss running through the gears for the most part on the 1000 I don’t get out of 3rd, the power on that 750 felt more raw than my 1000 if that makes sense. I kinda wish I still had it but I sold it the beginning of this year I only have one ass and only need one bike and I put so much time and effort trying to figure it out I considered it a project I don’t have time for.

Wanted to make it more stunt-able at first but decided to just keep it as an extra bike and let my friends ride it when they're in town. Also keep my k9 put away during the winter months.

The +6 in the rear actually isn't what I thought it would be. Bike just feels like it is missing a gear and I'm constantly inadvertently using the rev limiter as my shift light lol

Thanks man. I aspire to have 100 bikes lol. And I tell people the 750 is like a 400hp Honda civic with a donut, where as my 1k is like a porche. Both make a lot of power but the 1k is smooth. That long first gear makes a huge difference. My 1k is cool in every gear. Even just cruising at 55 in 6th feels good.
