A few laps of Grattan from last week:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?edit=vd&v=86ZgBj4my_0

Took a few not-normal lines hanging out behind a couple of bikes, especially going into T1. It's a very friendly event so no stuffing anyone.

Looks pretty rough, I noticed the metal guard rails on one side, seems a little treacherous lol.
How many times have you run there?
At least there wasnt a bunch of traffic. Tracks where I run always have slow traffic, but it does teach you to pass safely.
Cool video.

I was there in 2004 then this is my third year back 2015-2017. All kinds of different pavement but it looks worse than it really is. Was pretty green in the mornings (only got to mid 70s/low 80s) but good later. The only place I'm really aware of the runoff is in T4 which is the fast right hander after the off-camber left. Get that wrong and you could be launching off the track but otherwise I feel pretty safe there.

Ha, happened to be the only session I had the GoPro on. They run 30 min sessions and it was super hot so crowding wasn't an issue.

I think that must be some kind of special event for cars. Regular price for a day through TrackAddix is $200/day but you can buy Track Packs that can be used for this track or the one in Hastings and they don't expire. Buying four days works out to $185/day. They usually run a special in December and you can get them for even more of a discount, which is what I do.

I'm now torturing myself reading this section. I tore my bicep at work Saturday and will be getting surgery most likely. I wont be able to ride for a bit.

P.S.$120 is a smokin deal for a track day!

Tried a different camera angle. I think this could be pretty useful; can already see some room for improvement. Funny I think I only used two fingers to brake one time and there's a 6th gear straight.

So I was in the cage this weekend and this happened:

A nice lil hit and run, got the guys plate tho. The old lady calmed me down pretty quick after I called and said I had the accident her first question was "are you on the bike!?!?" and I thought yup could have been worse on the bike and like I said that calmed me down cause I was soooo pissed at first! Not sure exactly what is going on with the whole thing but from what info I do have: it was a 2017 ford escape(I believe, their small suv but I know for sure 2017), no contact has been made with the alleged driver/owner. At this point I'm thinking the vehicle may have been stolen.

Now this is my first time dealing with a hit & run accident, does anyone else have any experience with one? What was the process like? my insurance company is still waiting on a police report which has not been completed because of the missing driver, so what do I do about that?

I didn't go to the hospital(I know stupid me) cause I really wasn't hurt, a lil sore the next day but not bad at all. At this point I just want my car fixed asap, I hate seeing her with the lazy eye ugh!

How was the track? nice track to ride? I know it's fairly new so I'm guessing no major issues. I rode there this summer just to check it out(caught them doing a exotic car driving experience, which was nice to watch for a bit) but I do plan on doing one of the TTDs next year for sure! If you don't mind me asking, where in MA are you from? Just asking cause there isn't many of us Massholes on the site, well not many from western mass for sure.

Fairly new and basically still a private track but from what I hear they are trying to get sponsored for some of the bigger races.

Looks like you might be due for some new pucks Tiger.
Noticed sometimes you'd lightly pull brake between downshifts and sometimes keep pull on through all downshifts. Without seeing the track I'm assuming it just depends how fast you have to slow down.
Ill have to film like that eventually, I cant even remember exactly how I brake, I guess it's just inner programmed.

Probably should be smooth pull throughout. Good way to see if you're doing what you think you're doing. LOL

I can see I definitely need to pull my knee in sooner when coming out of a corner. There are times I'm halfway down the straight with my leg still out like a rudder.

Yup the old lady pointed that out and changed my whole outlook on the accident cause I can say last time around was no fun and the crazy thing about it is it would have been the same leg!

lol holy chit, I just noticed this is the track day thread and not the chat thread, sorry peoples I'll try to get someone to move this out of here.

I don't know why, but overcast days seem to be my favorite. Easy on the eyes I guess and usually cooler.
I like that track layout, bumpy but I'm sure you get used to each turn(good line/bad line)
So many riders here up north, makes me wish I lived up there....except when it gets cold lol

Was low to mid 80's last weekend and a bit overcast so pretty great riding weather for sure. Much better than the upper 90's last time I was there. It is a very fun layout, designed by Alan Wilson who also designed Barber and a few others. Zero elevation changes but hey, Iowa. It was fantastic back when I was racing in 2003-04 but over the years they let it run down. The paddock is a joke; I have to dump the rocks out of my belly pan a couple times a day. There are definitely parts of the track you just don't use anymore. 7-8 is two right handers that you take as one but half of what it used to be due to a wicked seam you don't want to run over at lean. I love getting on the gas for the short straight after the decreasing radius but you have to hit your line inside the bumps or you'll be bucking for a while. However they have new ownership that is starting to put some money back in the place. They've repaved a few of the worst spots, built a new classroom, etc. so if people keep showing up we're hoping it'll continue to improve.
