2011 1000 clutch issues

ok, so I replaced the friction and steel plates on my bike recently with OEM clutch kit from Suzuki. The kit came with 9 friction plates and 7 steel plates. Does this mean 2 friction plates will be back to back or is there an extra one? So, I tried both ways and my bike won't seem to go into gear even when in gear. I kick it into first or second gear and it still rolls forward or backwards without pressing in the clutch. I've adjusted the cable and am totally lost. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

Try looking at the breakdown on an online parts place. It should show you the order of assembly.

Obviously, you have something assembled incorrectly or the clutch is not adjusted correctly (search here or look at the service manual).
