Well Im new to the GSXR1000 but not to motorcycles. I have been riding and wrenching for the last 50 years. Im into restoring the 70's Z1900 bikes. I currently have three that I ride along with a 72 XS650. My main ride is a FJR1300. I have just restored a 75 RS100, and on the back burner is a RD350, CB550, 550 Maxim. I came across this 2002 GSXR1000 with a spun rod bearing that has been sitting for ten years disassembled. The guy brought it to a local dealer who dropped the bottom case to expose the crank then called the guy to come and get his bike because they were closing up and going out of business. It will be a fun project.

Thanks everybody. The rest of the bike is in pretty good condition,it only had 9,000 miles on it however the previous oner liked skulls and things like that on the fairing and scratched in somthing like bitch ride something on the back end panels. I guess in referance to a metal band. I decided to purchase a Summit fairing rather than deal with fixing the old one up. I will be posting up some photos. Probably start a rebuild thread.
