GPS Solution
I quickly found that I 'm not comfortable trying to look at the GPS on my Ram-X mounted phone. I was using Google which did not have voice. I went to Waze with earbuds and solved the problem. You don't have to spend a lot of money not too get lost😊

Waze is a great app it also offers a gps speedometer. Help avoid traffic jams, let u know where the fuzz is , it’s the only app I use for navigation.
But... Google maps DOES have voice. I use it a lot in my car. I haven't used Waze in years. Didn't like it then, likely better these days. I still need to get my Sena installed in my helmet. (Helmet needs to be modified a little) the ear spaces need to be a little bit deeper, the speakers hit my ears...
The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

I use either my Garmin 2595 GPS or my smartphone running Google maps or Waze. I Bluetooth the phone to my Scala Rider G4 in my helmet, and can listen to the radio as well as hear the prompts for the next turn. I use the Ram stem mount on my GSXR.
I leave my phone in my jacket pocket and use the voice from google maps through my sena bluetooth. Never seemed to be a problem.

I installed my Sena in my Helmet, took all of 10 minutes. Mine came with some different thickness velcro speaker mounts. Mine works well, and I can recieve and send texts using Siri and my contact list. Receive and make calls too using Siri, etc. We're going to start calling you big ears LOL.
It's also nice to be able to glance down about the streets on the map, etc with the Ram/stem mount.

Don't know why, but could not get voice to work for me with GM. Can't afford & don't care for calling or texting when on bike. I just wanted GPS that I could hear vs. looking at phone while riding.

Just a thought. When I open Google maps on my phone, tap the three bars on top left of screen. I go down to settings, then navigation settings. My volume for the app is set on "Louder". Is yours set that way?

.... Not going to bother with it. Happy with the way Waze is working. Today it told me of vehicles parked on the shoulder ahead of me, 3 times. It also alerted me to the Popo.
But thanks for the help anyway.

I used Garmin too. A 1/2" piece of copper pipe is a perfect fit for a stem mount. I disassembled the charger for it and put the parts in a small electronics box with a pin switch to cut the power. It was great for powering it for a full days ride. Best use I got from it was in Binghamption on the GSXR.com ride. It was unfamiliar territory and I could zoom out and see what corners were coming up in spite of having two or three bikes in front of me blocking my view. I am not sold on riding with speakers or ear buds in my helmet, I've done it but I want to hear sirens and car horns.
