A freind of mine currently has a sx600 i think it’s sx it’s the naked r6 anyway he wants a bigger bike. Ive went looking with him a few times and found a lot of junk, bikes that look nice but are not good mechanicly or bikes not so nice looking but are good bikes, I am a Suzuki guy so ofcourse in my search for him I lean towards gsxr I am not a perfectionist I don’t need a perfect looking bike I’m more concerned if it’s mechanicly sound. Today we went too look at a k6 1000 generally a nice looking bike at one time it was lightly dropped right side plastics and wheels had some scratches nothing major 12k miles , suppositly the original owner altho there is a possible description bc today he sorta slipped and said he only owned it 2yrs when he has repeated dozens of times he bought it new as a left over in 07?!?! Also the bike needs front brakes I think the brake lever was cheap aftermarket and the adjuster was broke and should be replaced , the front tire was brand new the rear tire needed to be replaced I asked why he did not do both at the same time he did not have a good answer, c-00 was the f1 light the tps line was up top I’m sure that’s why. the chain was too loose no big deal normal stuff if u ask me under 500$ to make it in good running condition , it has new fork seals new battery services earlier this year we got the guy down to 4grand if u ask me it’s a hell of a deal. minus adjust the front brakes you could drive it today. My buddy turned it down now he wants to finance a bike bc he’s sick of looking at junk smh . I’m ready to buy this k6 my self and sell my bike.? I like it a lot better less miles better color the scratches are minor nothing some elbow grease and some touch up paint couldn’t fix I can’t beleive he turned it down he is not the most mechanicly inclined and I offered a bunch of times to assist him

Normally I would agree with you, it’s not even clear what he meant by the 2years / it came up when I asked about the fi light. I think the fi light was on for 2years and he ignored it but he did say it’s been on for 2yrs since I owned it 2yrs ago. I thought about this whole situation all nite.I buy and sell stuff on the side mostly brand new tools I often don’t like the person selling it I’m not buying the person I’m buying the item. I can’t deny weather I like a person or not that yesterday there was a bike in front of me pretty clean and in pretty good mechanical shape besides some minor things low miles garadge kept for a good price. I was not looking for another bike I don’t have storage I don’t have the time etc etc but I beleive that yesterday I had a good deal infront of me probally a better bike than I currently have even tho it’s the same exact bike. For a pretty good price I’m pretty sure I could sell my current bike to make a even trade if not come out ahead. The owner of the red one seemed like he was not coming off of 4g I’m thinking wait a day or 2 and try and hit him with 35 even if we settled at 37-38 I think at that price it’s a no brainer but I would appreciate some more opinions.

Was it running when the light was on? Was it showing FI? The TPS line has zero to do with the light coming on. It could have been hp top because the STVA had the secondaries wide open for prestart. If it was running, it should have had a code, or a low oil pressure symbol. Make sure you understand which. If it had FI, it should have displayed something other than 00.

Right now, the story is fishy and I'd take anything he said as bullshit. At 13 years old, that bike is more in the 3-3.5k range. Bikes like that need a complete work over. For example, a buddy of mine bought an 04 R6 for 4000 in 2012. Coolant expansion tank cover was missing, several body fasteners missing, clutch arm was 2 splines off of where it should have been, and one of the front wheel spacers was just gone. The fucking rotors were keeping the front wheel centered. He's lucky he didn't die riding it home. At 13 years, you're looking at new coolant hoses, brake lines, all the general maintenance because people who lie about ownership probably don't do the maintenance either. This feels like one of those situations where the owner learns the bike has a very serious issue and then tries to dump it on someone else. Proceed with caution.

The bike was running with with f1 light on c00 only came up . The tps line was the only thing I seen wrong on the dash bc it was up top always instead of the middle . No other check light was lit. The oil looked good smelled good coolant the same , gas tank was fairly clean, none of the coolant brake lines from what I could see with a flash light and threw the plastics looked dry rotted or damaged . The guys basic story was he bought it and don’t drive much any more, as far as bike/vehicle prices go I know they vary slightly depending on your region but in good condition around here it’s a $5-6g bike. I take your experience and advice chuckster pretty seriously you helped me in the past I watch what you have to say too others , you could be rite , it mite be a much greater problem or it could be a guy like a lot of people that bought it and got tired of it fast I’d like to go look at it again if I can negotiate the price a little more . If you or anyone has any pointers what to look for more detailed info I could use it .

Fi Light should be on if someone added the slipon and removed or disabled the exhaust valve right? I don't remember the code off the top of my head but it would be displayed when running. Fi light should turn on at startup then go off after cranking if everything is right. I wouldn't touch it unless I got it for 3k. Perfect condition it's only worth about 5k and you've got about a grand in just regular stuff from the age. If you get it for 3 and put 1 more in that sits you at 4k which is about right for the bike in that condition. I might go up to 35 but wouldn't go anymore. Just what I think looking at the picture and what I hear from you.

It does have a 2bros slip on I did not look for the servo, my bike is the same bike with 2bros slip on my servo still is there my f1 light is not on. Ty everyone for your help who commented I think I’m over it I did really like the bike and it does have a lot less miles than my bike now, 31xxx but I’m happy with my bike I know what I got it still is a beast and I think I’m just keeping it for now. If by some chance this guy calls back and says something rediculously low like 3 g maybe I’ll change my mind. I’ll keep you updated as far as my freind he still has not found a bike yet.
