There was a time Auctmarts had great reviews too. Im torn honestly. I am actually considering taking their offer up though.
I need to do something with my ol girl.
I think people are starting to lose track of the issue at hand.
Their customer service was the issue in dealing with an exchange for some peices that the customer (New York) wasn't happy with.
Not necessarily that their quality has somehow changed for better or worse over all these years.
These are NOT oem quality and they have never tried to pass them off as such from what I have seen.
These are an option for people who want new plastics but do not want to pay oem prices.
I just put a set on my K7 durring the same time New York was going through all this.
I am a happy customer. I got exactly what I was expecting.
The plastic seems more brittle. They don't fit perfect. They scratch easy ect. ect. All the same things everyone has said for years.
However, I did not have to deal with any exchange or missing pieces.
There were a few minor imperfections here and there. Nothing major. I had to work on a lot of tabs and things to get them to fit the best I could. I took my time putting them all together. I pre-fit everything and sanded/shaved down some tabs. Opened a few holes.
In the end. After It was all said and done she looks fantastic.
She got complemented before but now I swear she gets complemented no stop.
I know the plastics dont fit perfectly and have some imperfections but to everyone else they just wouldn't know any different.
When it comes to mechanical, electrical, performance mods, I go with the best quality I can afford.
Plastics, which are mostly cosmetic (besides aerodynamics) I went the cheaper route.
$400 vs $1500+ for all new bodywork that make your bike look like its almost brand new isn't bad IMO.
Thats a helmet. A jacket. Some good boots. I think my PCV was $350. It's dirt cheap.
Customer service is where I think this company should be putting all their energy. Not free fairings for forum members. Not dammage control on customer feedback.
Honestly not even necessarily quality of the product. But treat paying customers with top notch customer service.
I also don't think that Johnny Sportbike getting a free set of fairings because of New Yorks bad customer sevice experience is very fair to other members here (like myself) who paid full price for fairings and got what they were expecting. Or does it fix the problem at hand. (The customer service of dealing with parts that are shown to have visible unreasonable dammage, or missing.)
