I feel this deserves it's own thread, and I'll tell you why. I ordered a set of plastics from auctmarts about 2 weeks back, and today they emailed me with this:
"Hello,
Fairing kit has been painted as your requested. Tracking number will be provided within couple days, once again, thanks for buying from us and we appreciate your patience"
With 2 pictures of my personal kit, and they asked if it was to my satisfaction. It's hard to find any company, let alone a Chinese one, to take care of their customers this well.
Just wanna let you guys know how they treated me, and how it made getting new plastics easy and affordable
Powder-coating my rims a semi-gloss black to match the paint, took that fugly extension off, new rear tire, new black sprockets/chain, and taking the tank in to get painted to match the scheme after I get the plastics fitted. This bike will be one fine piece after I'm done with it.
I purchased a set of fairings from them about 4 years ago and it took about 2 months to get. Since they have changed thier ebay account name several times, but keep it close to the original name. When the kit came it looked great, but it did take forever. Glad to hear they got thier act together.
Send them a picture of what you want, they will custom paint. Mine is an k4 1000 scheme transferred onto an 03 600 set. The extra charge was 30 or so USD, so overall I am pleased. I should get these in the next 10-14 business days, which will put my total wait time at 1 and a half months. Not bad by any stretch for custom painting(7-13 business days estimated on their site) and delivery, from halfway around the world, which is another 10-14 business days.
Now only if they had race/track versions as well. I'm thinking about buying from them once I get enough extra money. I was sketchy the first time I saw them on Ebay years ago.
They will I speak from experience with them. Turn them around and look at the back side and they look identical even down to the logos and part numbers.
I got tracking info a couple days back, should be here next week or early the week after. Luckily for me, I made myself a pretty good sized to-do list with everything I am replacing/painting. She'll be a brand new beast when I'm done with her.
Also, gonna be finishing up the sprocket install tonight, had to go out and buy a few special sized sockets I didn't have lying around, and my chain breaker/rivet tool should be here tonight as well.
Well small kink in the process, the right side fairings came cracked on the mounting points for the front. I am just glad I opted for the shipping insurance, hopefully everything gets settled before it gets too warm.
I figured I'll keep this going with updates, so you know exactly how auctmart deals with problems.
Here is how my fairing came, luckily this was the only problem, albeit a major one.
So I emailed auctmarts with the pictures of the problem, and although they do not want to ship a new one, they will but it would need to be about another month and a half of waiting. So I am asking for a partial refund of $150 USD to cover the cost of plastic welding and repainting the piece. Got the estimate yesterday, and I realize it may cost more than that, but at least I will not get totally bent over with this deal. They originally offered a partial refund of $90, but I had to at least get the repairs covered by the refund, I paid the extra $25 for shipping insurance so I should have no issue with getting everything I need back.
Yeah, somewhere between hong kong and Illinois the tab snapped off. Now I am just hoping they refund my money in a timely manner so I can get this into the body shop for welding and paint.
At first they tried to tell me it's not important and to pretty much deal with it, but it is an important part, which is why I am pursuing the refund for the damages. Everything else looks fantastic though, and I am happy with it. There are paint runs on the backside of all the pieces, but unless you have OCD that won't bother you.
what colour were ur wheels before , i may just powdercoat mines.
