2011 750 vs 2013 vmax

In the spring ill be running my gsxr 750 l1 vs a freinds vmax with exhaust and tune in the 1/4 mile i might have been a bit cocky when i agreed to give him 2 bikes what does everyone think the outcome will be and anything that might help to get the edge on him

I'm guessing he doesn't because he's asking for advice to get an edge.

If you guys both knew how to drag my guess would be you'd take him.

If he can ride hes gonna be able to out launch you on the street.

Id race him heads up so you can walk him on the big end.

I think you will have your doors blown off, unless you are a much better rider.

The better rider will probably win. The V Max will be easier to launch, so get out to a deserted parking lot and practice launching and power shifting

If that's the case then giving him two bikes head start was just silly. You mess up even the smallest amount I mean the smallest and your not catching him a 1/4 mile.

Yeah I think you're toast. Sure it's a heavier bike, but it's built for straight line acceleration.

I'm thinking your about to lose as well. He's going to take you off the line for sure, the heavier / lower end torque is going to win that... its a matter of if you can catch him.

Is this at an official drag strip? They have that sticky tarmac at the beginning that takes some getting used to.

Buddy of mine has a nasty Vrod that destroys Vmaxs. He races 600s on the street all time and EATS them. At the drag strip they barely catch him if they arent good riders.

When I used to(before I knew what was up) race him on the 1k if I didnt NAIL the launch perfectly he took me by a bike or two. Onces hes a head I have to get too deep in the throttle and Im lifting the wheel. Snow ball effect, wheel lifting so now Im feathering the throttle etc. When that happens its not till top of 2nd and then 3rd before I finally put some distance on him. Now this is with my 1k the puts down more then 160HP at the wheel and runs high 9s at 14Xmph.

At the track with me front strapped I have to work harder to beat him then I do a 600 or 750 because this a hole just bounces off rev limiter and dumps the clutch. The track is prepped so he hooks (260 rear tire) and doesnt have to worry about wheelies. Hes cuts 1.5 60fts and under with out breaking a sweat.

Ive raced him so many times now that its made me a better launcher and I can get him the whole time fairly consistently but it was rough in the beginning. If you are def giving him 2 bikes, practice the piss out of your launches and race like your gonna loose. Dont take it for granted.

Your bike is probably capable of high 10's. I think you need to practice practice practice.

lol your in trouble.

While those are both crank numbers the wheel numbers are both going to be more then you put down. Its almost gonna be like your racing an inline 1k but its heavier. If has a good race your done. Id talk him into a heads up race first. You should be fine there.

I just thought about it, but if yall do this on a legit drag strip and your on a stock wheelbase bike, along with all that grip at the start, aren't you gonna be wheeling/fighting not to wheelie the first third after the jump.

Dog you lose. Sorry, nice knowing you before the skirticide.

A shot of NOS and the vmax won't be such a hard target anymore... don't you have a sketchy bike shop nearby?
