First time at the track times posted.

I went to Cecil county drag way last night to finally get a pass on my 01 750. I got 3 passes in. My 3rd pass the guy running next to me runs a pro tree so the staging guy ask me if it would be ok so I said Fuck it lets go for it. Wow was that different. I have the time slips I will be gladly to post. Keep in mind it's a 01 gsxr 750 and I'm 216 lbs plus the leathers. Any suggestions on what I need to focus on and look at I. The slips I would appreciate it.

First pass was interesting I ran 11.727 1/4 at 124.38, r/t .707, 60' 2.064, 330 5.307, 1/8 7.804, 1000 9.921.

Second pass I ran 11.605 1/4 at 123.00, r/t .149, 60' 2.147, 330 5.345, 1/8 7.756, 1000 9.832

Third pass I ran 11.087 1/4 at 127.49, r/t .359, 60' 1.889, 330 4.889, 1/8 7.275, 1000 9.334

Your times got lower and lower, thats good. What rpm's were you launching at? you can strap and lower your bike for when you get to the strip and raise it back up when your on the street. that will help you 60' better and youll see a lot better et. It takes a lot of seat time and is extremely addicting.

Hey 03pearl750 thanks for responding. I wish I could have gotten more passes in, I definitely could have gotten in the 10s. My reactions and 60fts need work. I liked the pro tree better. My first two passes I left at about 3500-4000 rpm, my last pass I left at 6000 rpm. It was my first time running my 750 so I didn't want to get crazy. I just installed the brocks lowering strap today and did a small launch, huge difference. I do have a question, when the strap is In use I am having a hard time routing the extra length of the strap out of the way. I tend get real meticulous with things and I over think a lot. Suggestions on routin the extra? When I ride on the street I dont notice to much of an effect with the strap (not pulled) it just swings around a bit that shouldn't effect anything right? I do need more seat time. Ready to get back and run. What rpm would you recommend? I have been reading through the forum and many people just pin it out and go. I rather leave at 10500 rpm then pin it and go. Thanks for the help!

For my strap I have a zip tie towards the top so I don't have all the extra strap hanging around. Only have the top half with the little loop to pull not in the zip tie. And when I loosen it for the street I just put a tiny bit of tension on it, not enough to compress the forks and not enough to flap around. Strapping it down on the street and for long periods of time will wear out your fork seals. As far as launching, for a stock wheel base I would stay around 5-6000 rpm. If you try launching any higher and the clutch gets away you could flip pretty easy. A good clutch hand will come. Learning on a stock wheel base bike will make you a lot better rider. And I know you mentioned your reaction time but don't worry about that people drive themselves crazy worrying about that too much and don't focus on the launch itself. Your reaction time doesn't affect your et anyway. Get your launching down then focus on reaction time.

Hey pearl I appreciate the info. Right now my wb is extended. I only have 4-6 extensions. I measured it to be 4 over. It's not to bad. I plan on getting back to the track to practice. Thanks again.
