I just bought an 03 600 and when im ridin the bike the motor will not spin up over 10,500 rpm. my tach reads 15k redline not sure what would cause this problem. any advice would be appreciated!

I'm not sure either

Read the manuals trouble shooting.
Check the throttle play.
Check and see if there's a power commander that might not have any inputs for above that rpm.
Do the manuals adjustment for linkage and such and see what happens..............

hey i just downloaded a manual for my bike. the manual says when i turn the key on, my STV should go from half open-full close-full open-back to half close; when i turned my key the valves did all of that but did not return to half open-they were almost all the way closed. would this cause the motor to lose power in the upper rpm band?
