my boy has an 05 gsxr 600 and we were ridin back yesterday from gettin it back from the shop from being painted and my boy switched from 4th to 5th and he said it felt like his bike went into neutral and then he said his back tired locked up and he got rear ended...what would of caused this to happen does anyone know. thanks in advance

He may not have shifted hard enough and hit a false neutral. It happens occassionally. If he then let off the gas and the engine dropped to idle, it may have allowed the transmission to complete the shift that he only got halfway through. If he was going faster than 30 when the transmission finished the shift with the engine at idle, it would have locked up the back tire.

I'm just guessing though.

^Hes right. Happens to me occasionally cause I cant feel the shift all the way sometimes when I wear my riding boots.
