Im thinking I might have figured it out but am puzzled how it happened.

Sunday at the track after first time trial I could hear a screeching sound coming from the left side of the motor. Narrowed it down to the counter shaft cover, and it only happens when pulling the clutch lever. Removed the cover and found the push pin that actuates the clutch was tweeked enough to drag slightly inside the trans shaft. Weird... I'm up one step with clutch springs? Anyone have any ideas? It's been raced about two seasons.

Just one of those things that happens I guess, but if it happens again with the upgraded springs and clutch then you would have to check

Update...

Both push pins were WELDED together... :wtf:

Found some folks saying it's the new blend of Mobil 1 5W30 doing it and that's what I've always run. It hosed my new clutch pak in the process. Looks like I'm in the market for a new set of steels and new type of oil.

Ugh.
