Yesterday I rode the bike home running good as ever. go to start it this morning, and it starts no problem. Then all the sudden it started to smoke really bad. I thought it was just because it was early in the morning. Then it started to idle a little lower, and got really rough and died. I tried to start it again, and it just cranks. If i manually hold the throttle on a tiny bit, it starts, running rough, until i let go of throttle, then it just dies again. Any ideas?

Also, I was going to take it into the local shop considering i paid $2000 for the 6 year warranty, but I have a speedohealer and Two Brothers exhaust. should i swap those before taking it in?

Ah, forgot to mention 2 or 3 days ago, I had Fi light go on, right when i started it again after stopping a minute.. Shut it off instantly, then restarted and it was off. This may have something to do with it?

yea if you are going to take it to a shop you need to put al the stock stuff back on or else it will void the warranty. It sounds like your bike is running too rich. Does it smoke out of your exhaust??
Normally in the morning yes. Not bad but I mean i leave for school at nearly 5:30 in the morning.. So its very cold. but today yes it was smoking pretty bad out of the exhaust. And thanks for the quick reply. Looks like my after noon is booked now haha. Just wondering how to get it to the shop 70 miles away when it wont run : /

if you cant get a truck or a trailer to get it there, then there is one way that you might be able to make it. You need to adjust the idle speed for the bike so that it idles higher so that the bike wont get too low in idle and die on you. If its smoking out the pipe that most likely means that your bike is running too rich. Since you put that exhaust on there you might have to remap the fuel settings. Do you have a power commander on the bike??

No, not yet anyhow. But its been on there for like 4 months. so just kind of random, but makes sense. Maybe I'll just throw the new exhaust away, I'm 20 years old but afraid I'll be deaf before I hit 21. Wayyy too loud.

dude, dont take off the exhaust! thats the only thing saving you on the highway when people merge into your lane while on their cell phones and not looking in their mirrors or blind spots...you can hear my bike a mile away and ever since i never had anyone merge into my lane...

first of all what color is the smoke? have you checked the oil? make sure its nice and clean no bubbles and check the coolant too. the shorty two bro exhaust is about the worst one you can have cuz i had one it causes alot of backpressure on the motor since its basically like running no exhaust, which is why it pops alot at high rpms, and you loose all your power for that loud piece of crap no offense bro just tellin you what I know. smoking sounds like it could be your plugs, that would probably be the cause of the FI light if so. how many miles are on the bike? checked your air filter lately? how does the fuel pump sound when you turn the ignition on before you start it? sounds like a simple problem to me so I wouldnt worry about the dealership yet thats what this forum is for
