The 89 was a good bike. Obviously something this old is likely to need maintenance and bikes of that era required more maintenance . I think there were valve adjustments like every 3000 or 5000 miles etc.

Thanks mate but I am looking at long term investment and collect bikes as a hobby and as part of my super. Modern stuff does not interest me unless it is special limited edition or race versions etc. I guess we are all different as to what is a good bike to collect and why. I have mainly been interested in Guzzi' and bevel drive Dukes up to this opportunity coming up so thought I would see if anyone can shed a bit of light on this bike. From my search I reckon its a sure thing for maintaining its value and as to what it will be worth in 5 - 10 years is any ones guess.
Thanks again

Depends what you want it for eh?
You dont see too much modern stuff in a museam or maintain its value especially modern Jap bikes, but then......... in 20 years time whats an 04 GSXR 750 going to be worth?
