Hello everyone, newbie here. I have a question about the firing order on my motorcycle. I did a search and did find information on here but i had additional questions and I didn’t want to revive a old post.

I am trying to restore a 93 gsxr 750, how should i connect my coils? I found different orders on my search and just more confused. So my understanding is 1 and 4 coil goes to the extreme left and extreme right of the engine. Then 2 and 3 coil goes in the middle to cylinders. Is this accurate?

Depending on how much air, yes, it is normal to have a little air puffing out of that vent.
If there is a LOT of air puffing out of that, you could have a timing issue.

It is possible to have the coils connected backwards. Meaning 1 & 4 are firing when 2 & 3 should be...

Yup. Could be a case of reversed coils. The cylinders number from 1 to 4 going left to right when sitting on the bike. 4 is throttle side.

I tried switching so 1&4 were inside and 2&3 were outside. It made air come out of the carburetors. I think i might have bent valves so ill do a compression test. I verified the chain timing based on the service manual. Its the only thing i can think of or the computer

Check the wires and plugs at the ignition module. My 89 had it in a really dumb place and it kinked and broke wires right at the module. It was jammed in on the right side of the battery box and I relocated it to the top of the air box. Still works with the stock wiring harnes routing. 93 was a different generation though and the location may have changed a bit.

Thank you, thank you and thank you again. Thank you for starting a new thread, thank you for not un-deading an old thread and THANK YOU for closing the loop on the subject you started. I wish every new member went about things this way.
