Ok so I was kinda gifted this bike . Because the person who owns it was tired of spending money on it. I picked it up from the shop . The shop paper work says they changed the fuel pump , injectors , and spark plugs. It still will not start . I’m mechanically inclined, but have zero knowledge about motorcycles. I have taken the tank and air box off . Sprayed starting fluid in the carbs and it will run. What should my next move be?

What kind of a shop changes a bunch of parts and but is unable to get bike to run? But I digress...

It's hard to diagnose anything with so little information provided. When is the last time the bike has ran? How long did it sit with old fuel?

If the bike will run with starter fluid, that means you have spark and timing is correct (or close). You likely have a fueling problem.
If you don't know how old the fuel is, start by emptying tank, flushing with fresh fuel and then refilling with fresh fuel.
Are you getting fuel from the tank to the carbs? Can you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn ignition on? Petcock working correctly?
If you can confirm you are getting fuel to the carbs, then I would pull out the carbs, dismantle and and clean them thoroughly (you should probably do this anyway). A carb rebuild kit (with new o-rings, needle jets, etc.) would be good to have, but not a necessity. If fuel has been sitting in the carbs for a few months, you will likely have varnish or junk in the carbs, stuck carb floats, etc.

Yeah I’m not sure what kinda shop does that, but they did diagnose the issue. I’m not sure how long the bike sat. I think it was a couple of months. The fuel pump does come on and prime. Seems to be getting fuel to the fuel rail , but again I’m no expert on these things. I think I’ll take the carbs off and try to clean them .

Fuel injection or Carburetor?
GSXR 600 or 750?

If it sat for two months, that's not that long for fuel to turn bad. But it costs nothing (other than your time) to pull the carbs and clean them out, so it's a good thing to do, especially when the maintenance history of the bike is unclear or unknown. The previous owner of my 96 GSXR 750 had "stored" the bike with old fuel for 9 years. Needless to say, it ran like crap, if it all, when I bought it. I disposed of the old fuel, flushed, and refilled with fresh fuel. I pulled the carbs and cleaned them. There were no evidence of junk or varnish in the carbs, but clearly there was something because when I put the cleaned carbs back in, the bike firing up and ran well. Good luck, and please report back.

So I pulled everything, but the carbs today . Flushed the tank , and put new gas in it . It did try to run . I think I’m going to have to pull the carbs. Thanks for the reply

Ok , sorry I haven’t responded lately. I was just now able to get back working on the bike . So yes this is a fuel injection bike. I tried to find the wires to put the bike in dealer mode. So I could read the code(s) , but the connector that is empty has more than 2 wires . Any suggestions on what to do next ? If I can figure out how to post pictures of the plug I will.
Thanks everyone!

Sorry, my post was a little off the topic, as you have the dealer mode option, it's definitely FI.

There's a similar issue in another topic, the one with a GSXR engine in a go-kart. Have you tested the fuel relay yet? I posted instructions for testing on that thread.
