with my 04 GSXR 1000 you have to take the tank off, and on the right hand side of the throttle bodies there is an adjustment screw to change the idle. On my 00 GSXR 750 it had a black knob right near the radiator overflow resivoir.

There is either a black knob near the reservoir, or a brass thumb screw near the throttle cables on the throttle bodies.

You should not have to play with your nuts
