All of a sudden my gauge cluster wont work!

When I un-plug the wires and re-plug them back in the tach needle will reset but thats it! When i turn the ignition nothing happens. I know that its getting power because when I un-plug and re-plug in the wires going to it the tach needle moves. Im thinking it is probably the relay that went bad so its getting the power but its not sending a signal???? Any ideas?

yea. the bike will start and run just the whole cluster wont come on. no tach, none of the digital readout.
I dont think he was talking about the main ground for the bike, ground at the cluster it self. Sounds like a fuse to me tho, just because its getting power doesnt mean its not another fuse. I think I recall the same kinda problem on my SRAD and it was a fuse. Something else silly wasnt working at the same time, horn or taillights something goofy like that. Fuse was in a box up around the cluster.

Did you check the fuses by eye or with a meter? Fuses can look good but still be bad. Relays should also be checked by meter. Does the cluster light up?

I feel like it has to be a fuse.

If you can trouble shoot the ignition switch. It has around 6 different wire. Check the plug for the ignition switch first to make sure everything looks good. I'm not sure if a trouble shooting guide for the switch is available. I don't have a service manual for that year. When the switch is turned it powers up plenty of things with the different wires. One of the contacts might be bad. Good luck.

thanks for the responses! I only checked everything by sight so far. The cluster does not light up, it doesnt do anything.
My money is on fuse, grab a meter, Esp now that you told me its not lighting up. I KNOW FOR A FACT when my srads stoped lighting up it was just a fuse, and my tail lights were out too.

On the 04-07 600/750 (absolutely certain about these two generations) there is a fuse under the seat marked "SIGNAL" that would make your cluster stop working... Don't know if it is the same on the 02 or not though...

there is actually a fuse marked signal that is up by the front on my bike and it keeps blowing everytime i put in a new one somaybe that is the problem! but what would cause it to keep blowing the fuse??
