['03 GSXR]

Ive had my 07 750 for 2 months now and it had 1800kms on it when i bought it. I have put around 1000kms on it since then and whenever i come in from a ride and shut the bike off i get a whiff of something that smells like its burning. I figured it was because the bike was pretty much brand new when i bought it and things were just getting worked in cause it hadnt been rode in a while. The bike is in perfect shape and runs like a champ.

Anyone have any ideas?

New bikes have an oily residue to protect them from corrosion during shipping and when they are sitting on the showroom. It could be still burning off since its still very low millage. Could be that the previous owner ran it for such short little stints that the oil never burnt off the hotter parts. My bike is at near 1000km and still stinks after a long ride

Hmm, right on, thats good to know. I will keep checking it for the next 1000kms or so and see if it diminishes at all.
