I got a chance to ride with CSS again, this time at the National Corvette Museum track west course yesterday. I really enjoyed it and picked up a number of good points. They really run a good course and it is obvious that the coaches and class teachers are invested in seeing you make progress. The icing on the cake was riding the S1000rr plust that saved me towing the trailer 700 miles.

This was my first time on NCM and it is as technical as the track map looks, plus plenty of elevation change. Between working on an exercise, on a new track, on an unfamiliar bike, my first two sessions felt so slooowww. Things clicked after lunch and finished up a great day.

At first I was disappointed they did not do the full track, but for the purpose of the class, the west course was the way to go. This track has been on my bucket list and I would not mind doing a track day there.

Yes, they take notes on the track.

So what happens when you crash their bike???
Actually, that is not hateful. You give them an imprint of your credit card and if you bin it, they will charge you for the repairs up to a max of $1,750.

Considering the value of the bike, I thought that was reasonable.

As you know, it's not hard to do that much damage to your own track bike.
