I can't seem to find an answer to my question.....

I have an 08 GSXR1000 that I am going to race this year.

I want to buy a set of spare wheels & rotors for my rain tires.

My buddy has a set of stock 05 wheels & rotors for sale.

Can I use these on my bike as an assembly? (I know the 05 rotors don't fit on 07 rims, as there are a different amount of buttons.)

The diameters are the same (310mm).

The 05 rotors are 0.5mm thicker. Is this an issue? I wouldn't think it would be. The level in the resevoir would just be a little higher as the pistons would be pushed back 0.25mm on each side. I would just take a bit of fluid out of the resevoir...

I don't really care if the 05 wheels are a little heavier, but are the dimensions the same?

I hope someone can shed some light on the subject.

Thanks in advance....

I'd check the part numbers, if they are the same or not. Your rotor swap is going to give you problems. You say this is a track bike. You will have COMPLETELY different braking and braking feel between the two set ups.

Hi. I was searching the forum. Did you ever get an answer about that swap? I'm looking to get some fronts from a friend they are off a k7. The dimensions are the same. And all the hardware to mount them is the same. All I saw was the actual rotor part number and wheel part number are different though. The mounting bolts are even the same. So I am guessing the swap would work...? just would have to compensate for the thickness difference?

To clarify I'm trying to get an k7 rotor on a k5 wheel
