Sometimes when I start up my '06 gsxr 750 the little red light in the lower left hand corner of the dash comes on. The one just beside the picture of the oil can and the water/temperature picture. And the display will show F1 or FI. The bike runs GREAT even if the light comes on. I can turn the bike off and restart it and the light will go out and stay out for the remainder of the trip. This just recently started happening and I'm wondering what the deal is. The oil level is fine and the bike doesn't blow smoke or anything like that. Just that little light and the FI/F1 indicator comes on maybe once out of every 4 or 5 times I ride the bike. Anyone know what it's trying to tell me? Thanks in advance for advice.

Nevermind... I read the frikken manual and answered my own question. Sorry for the bother. Looks like I need to take the bike to the dealer to have the fuel injection system checked out. :damn:

my 03 1k does that also, but I tracked it down to low battery voltage when it sits for more then 2-3 weeks. Even with a battery tender, the voltage is off enough to cause an occasional FI light to come on. Bike always starts and riding a couple of minutes, turn the ignition off/on clears it up.

Little Red Light.

I was having the same exact problem. I took the bike to the dealer where I purchased the bike. He tracked the problem to a loose connection. He said the symbol is F.I. (Fuel Injection) and that the bike is perfectly fine to ride. The warrenty covered anything they had to do. Best of luck

Thanks! I went ahead and removed the cables from the set valve on the exhaust yesterday and clipped wire #30 on the ECU that I think is responsible for making that light come one. No light on since then and the bike is running great.

i've been looking thru different manuals and posts on the SET valve wire to the ECU... but no luck in finding the one i need to clip... I clipped one that I thought was it, but I still get the C46 on my 01 1k - which is supposed to the the SET indicator.
all the manuals show 2 rows of wires to each ECU connectors but i have 3 or 4 rows of connectors to each of the 2 ECU connectors. am i missing something? my brothers 99 750 has 2 rows also.

any help is appreciated.

I'd answer you guys' questions if I had answers but I'm a newbie too. I was really worried when I clipped wire #30 in my harness because the pictures I'd seen of what the wiring bundle in the harness was supposed to look like didn't look much like mine at all. I had two bundles side-by-side and each bundle had 2 rows to it. I was sure I cut wire #30 because I could see the numbering on the collector piece but I was not sure I was cutting the wire in the correct bundle. I figured I could always twist the wires back together if I was wrong and it was a 50/50 chance. I just got lucky. I didn't want anyone to think I wasn't answering questions that I knew the answers to. Good luck, guys! :headscrat
