There is a hose that runs from the middle of the back of the air box down to what looks like a pump. I believe the repair manual calls it a PCV hose. This hose is about 10 inches long. Does anyone know what this hose connects the airbox to. I recently disconnected the hose to remove the airbox and I forgot to reattach it (like a moron). I ran the bike for about 10-15 miles before I realized. What type of damage may I have caused? I know this is very vague and if anyone can help me I would be both grateful and impressed.

yeah I did put it back, I'm just wondering if I need to worry about any damage that may have been done because it was not attached for 15 miles.

when I reattached the hose after riding there was a small amont of fluid dripping from it. I did notice an odor that may be from oil on the exhaust, but I have ridden the bike 5 or 6 times since I changed the oil.

What it is, is a vent to burn crankcase gases in to the airbox. It's an emission control device. If you have a really worn engine, you can blow oil through that line and in to the airbox. You can also get oil in there if you drop your bike.

As always Tee your wisdom is appreciated. That probably explains the smell that I was noticing. Thanks:thumbup:
