I ran a few 700+ miles trips one way so far on my 01 600 and about 500 in a day is all my butt would take but I'm going to be changing my seat so one could realistically and comfortably do more. As far as mileage I didn't really check as I was stopping for a restroom/smoke break about every 150 miles or so and would fill up. But I know that I'm getting 44-47mpg during the week runnin to work and back.

As far as the route is concerned Google Maps should get you squared away. I'd stick to the coast most of the way though just for scenery purposes.

As far as miles per tank of gas it would depend on your bike and your mods. I was averaging about 40 miles per gallon (sometimes a little more) on my K7 600 when I last rode and it was mostly stock. No mods that would seriously alter my gas mileage. Sounds like a nice trip though. Have fun.

i hope u mean 40 miles to the gallon. if u get 40 miles to the tank, thats very bad. thats about 12 miles to the gallon. i usually get 120-140 miles per tank. tank size is 3.5 gallons

He probably meant 140 miles per tank. I get about 120-140 on my daily commute. I got 80 miles to the tank once, that was an exciting day.
But for highway travel like that I'd say 140 to the tank would be a nice safe estimate, stop every 140 to let your butt cheeks breathe, fill 'er up and you'll be good to go.
