I guess we'll all find out soon if this wheel repair place is legit. I'm taking them the rear wheel from my track bike, and a 20" front HD Enforcer wheel that's been so bad it won't hold air. Will drop off on Saturday. Crossing fingers....

Where are you bringing the wheels Chuck? I sent mine to Frame Straight on 12/28/21 they arrived and He still has them. I really hope you bring them somewhere else. There is a guy on forums.13x that repairs wheels too. I have his contact information if you want it.

Acu-Tru in Dayton. He quoted me nearly 600 for the HD wheel, and 280 for the rear wheel on my GSXR. I'm not doing that when I can buy a rear wheel on ebay for around $150.
Those prices do seem steep, but I don’t know what the conditions are of the wheels were talking about. Mine were pretty well smashed and he charged me $600 to fix both. However, according to him that is the problem. He feels he undercharged me, so has been working on them whenever he has free time. Fact of the matter is, if he would have done them in a reasonable time frame he could have justified charging me more than the original quoted price. He chose to wait month and months before he even started the process so that is his own fault. It’s an absolutely unacceptable way to treat a customer but I am at his mercy with him having my wheels in another state.

That's his problem and if he has to eat this one, that's what he should do. Did he get to inspect them before the quote?
He actually had the wheels in his shop before he quoted me anything. Calls me two months later to collect the funds and I’m assuming that means they’re done. Nope, we’re just starting them today he tells me. So I replied, well since you’ve already sat on them for two months I supposed I should have them back in time for riding season start in April. He says, yea I can definitely get them back to you by April.
I called him a week ago and voiced my displeasure.
He said “ I basically been doing them for free” which really shows how he feels about this whole ordeal. Why should I care if this customer doesn’t have his wheels for a year. I didn’t make enough so I make him suffer. Great business model. I’m just waiting now to get them back so I can do a PSA on every forum I am on. People need to know not to ever send their wheels to this guy.

With this kind of business model, I agree. Lambast him!

We'll warm up the TDJU grill for a solid roast.
No doubt it is going down! I made sure to save all the text messages too just in case he tries to make it sound like I am just some random hater on the internet.
You guys were around for the Auctmarts PSA right? These type of seriously negative experiences can put a hurting on a business; and rightfully so. I’ve been down this road before, but this one is a lot worse bc this business is in America. Saddest part is the fact that the guy I found on wera was willing to fix them but actually recommended this guy at Frame Straight because he was closer. He’s actually checked in on me several times since and will now never recommend them again. I’m supposed to have them back by January but as you can imagine I am not holding my breath.

Hi all you Trackee's, and anyone else.

This season I'm thinking about doing several STT events, like I did my first season. +'s are it's 5 more minutes a session/per hour. They are well run and big turnouts too.
I'd sign up as a member again so I could get benefits like if you trash or have a mechanical and miss most of your Track day, you can get a credit, you can sell/transfer your track days, get extended free cancellation time, discount costs of Track days, etc.

What do you think? Good idea? I could still do Motovid TD's, as there's no memebership/discounts, etc.

I missed the Early bird package deals from Motovid also, they ended weeks ago.
STT's schedule doesn't come out until 1/1/23.

I always found benefits in joining one club and then jumping in to others where you can. The Riders Club in NJ gives a bunch of perks for joining that always made it seem worth it. Especially when you become really friendly with the staff that makes it happen at the track.

OK, I just bought the membership for STT 2023.

Chuck, and others- they have one weekend scheduled for Indy- at Putnum! 8/12&8/13!
Any chance you'd do that TD in August Chuck? I'd really like to make the trip there again for those days.

* Or if you don't do that one, might I still be able to stay over? No camping at Putnam.

I spoke to Chuck via phone call tonight.
With STT I have in my shopping cart on their site,
Autobahn in late May, a 3 day for Memorial Weekend.
Rd. A- that's Road America 6/26 and 6/27.
Blackhawk Farms 7/8 and 7/9.
and Putnam Park 8/12 and 8/13/

That's 9 Track Days so far.

I think I'll pull the trigger tomorrow and buy this package so far.

The membership comes with a no charge cancellation 30+ days out,
and other discounts and refunds after that. And selling days to another member up to 48hrs prior to event.

I'm really looking forward to the '23 season.

I can't even begin to plan out my '23 season. I don't know what the new mortgage will be nor much about the TX trackday scene. I guess that's a good question for you TX folks if any of y'all care to chime in.

@Chango, where are you? I know you've talked about Hallett a bit.
