Do you prefer being the leader in a group riding session, in the middle, or in the back so you can see what's going on up front?

I have a problem with not being in front,
I hate seeing people's taillights
Even when i am by myself, i need to get in front of everyone!!!!!!!!

I'm always in front. Every now and then I ride in the back just to judge peoples riding, but majority of the time I'm leading.

I used to like the front b/c I could smell fresh air instead of everyones exhaust fumes drying my eyes out like a mofo, but after that dipshit crashed into the back of me, I prefer the back of the pack, unless I know the group.

I know most people want to ride infront of me because my exhaust is so obnoxiously loud, but they just can't seem to stay infront, haha.

my opinion

i guess it has it's pros and cons for both. In the front, you might end up by yourself if someone behind has problems, in the middle, you might end up crashing into others and getting ran over, and in the back, you might be the one that has to end up getting a ticket.

Generally my buddy leads as he's the more experienced rider, and he knows the road better. I watch him for signs that the road is going to change (hand signals). And everyone else rides behind me. We often switch, or get a quick race in on the straights, but most of the time is my buddy, me, and others so on and so forth.
