Hey all,

I recently got my 2002 GSXR 600 painted. After I put the tank back on, the bike started right up and ran for about 2 or 3 minutes then stalled out. I think it may have run out of gas. Now when i try to start it, the fuel pump sounds much louder than it used to and the bike wont start. Is it possible that something may have gotten into the tank that is now clogged in the fuel pump? I have run out of gas a few time and ive never had this happen. Any suggestions on what my problem may be or what i need to do???

Thanks

Couple of things:
Why the tank was removed and was it possible water or other than gas was inside the tank
You ran out of gas a couple times and Did you know that your Fuel is what keeps the Pump from overheating or malfuctioning as well?

i dont think that it was possible for an other fluid to get in the tank. There was a tiny bit of gas in the tank while it was being painted. i had a tough time getting all of the gas out. is there an easy way to drain it completely?

You can whip out the old Manual and measure how much fluid that the pump is pumping. I still say take the pump down and check it out because it may have paint or something in there. Did you paint it? % bolts to see what up in there
