Hey guys, I bought a 2002 gsxr 600 with 32k miles on it. It rode fine the first 3 days. Now when I go to shift into 2nd, I can only do it if I’m stopped and bend over and reach down with my hand to pull up. I read it could possibly need an oil change? I just thought it was strange it would cause this problem needing an oil change. But I literally cannot shift into second by foot. Any help would be great. Thank you!

Yea. An oil change will affect how it shifts as it has a wet clutch. Will be smoother. I would check the shift linkage. Make sure the rod is 90 degrees to the points of attachment and not binding.

Welcome.

Check the shift linkage and see if something has come loose.

Most upshift problems are due to the lever being set too high so you foot has a hard time raising that much.

Also, check if the shift lever is hitting something like the engine case. I'm guessing you are pushing in on it slightly with your foot but pulling out slightly with your hand?
