Blueall I'm glad you have the working with the shift light figured out. The emblem or alert emblem is to let you know the shift light is enabled. It means when the rpm's get to the setting you desired and set then the white light will come on.

My suggestion to you is to not set the light for when you would like to shift or stop accelerating. But set the light to go on 1000 or more rpm's before your wanted a shift point. I suggest this because when accelerating the rpm's rise very fast so by the time you react to the light you are past the set point for the light. So just set it below where you are going to want to shift. This will help keep you out of bouncing the rpms around at the limit.

Congradulation on getting a fantastic motocycle. Plus the the little lightening bolt with a circle around it is not because something is wrong ;) It's to let you know the shift light is enabled.

Ride safe and I hope the police are less of a pain on your roads. Our police have gottne a law that takes our motorcyle away for going over 100mph with jail time. And for 80mph it's a day in jail with other looses. Real spoiled children in uniforms.
