My last day on my 2005 Harley Sportster 1200 custom.

August 27th of last year, 1100pm going down a local freeway in grand rapids michigan. Doing about 65mph my front tire found a 4x4 piece of wood before I did. Bike lifted off the ground, came back down with both front and rear rims dented pretty bad. Trying to slow down took all I could to hold her straight. Finally the bike kicked enough to throw me off and I went sliding about 150-200 ft down the side of the road. The bike tumbled and rolled a bit more than I did and was totaled by the time it stopped. I ended up with a shattered left wrist, and broken right ankle. After 6 hours of surgery I now have a plate and 6 pins in my wrist, and 2 pins in my ankle.

After a couple months of recovery I made it back to work and since it was about winter no point in looking too hard for a new bike at that time. Now that spring has sprung I have also picked up a new bike and now have a 2008 GSXR 1000, white and silver. Picked it up last week tuesday and have so far put close to 500 miles on it. So happy to be back on 2 wheels and rolling down the road again.

Welcome to the site! Wow sounds like a hell of a ride... I had the misfortune of hitting one last year on my Triumph America but got lucky and saved it. The good thing is that after being on the second worst bike that HD makes you wont get to uncomfortable on your new hot rod and your kidneys are going to love you for the change:thumbup:

dont have any pics of the bike, i was laid up in the hospital for 5 days and the insurance company already had it in their possession by the time I was released. I have some shots of my arm and ankle the day they took my stitches out. Not like many want to see that nasty stuff lol.
