I was always worried about replacing the H9 High beam for an LED bulb as the original almost touches the steering damper on my K7 1000, and as Gixxerboys sell an LED H9 for about £80 I thought it was a special order, turns out they are just trying to con you :)
I put an H7 Led in a while ago and was very happy with it, so when I got the chance for a free pair, I couldnt say no.
It turns out the LED H9/11 is shorter than standard so its not a problem touching the steering damper, and its a lot brighter than standard. I bought/reviewed the one in the link, but im guessing any will fit. If you click the link you will see the video I took on the review.

I know my k6 came with a 9005 high beam hid when I bought it the only reason I know is bc I had to replace the ballast. First pair of hids I’ve ever owned . It seems to work fine it’s bright as hell accually I like it besides replacing the ballast. I got leds in my truck and they are bright but don’t compare to the hid.

Good to know. My original high beam bulb snapped as I was taking it out, so the glass is still inside the headlight, nightmare to remove the headlight.

Take the windsheild off, then use the hose from the vac, I’ve never been behind a k7 light I got the room on the k6 for a smaller hose

Your headlight is not designed for LEDs or HIDs, do not use them.

Interesting that you say this, can you tell me exactly why we can't use LED or HID lights?
Because your headlight was not designed for it. The focal pattern is designed for a halogen bulb. This means your light dispersion is going to be all over the place. An HID bulb illuminates the entire bulb, while LEDs do not have the same distances from the mounting point as a halogen.
