Hi guys
We did a rebuild on a Hayabusa and it won't start,we have fuel and spark and nothing,it tries but it won't go,we checked twice the cam timing and all good there...what could it be? Thanks

Worth doing a compression and or leak down test on all cylinders?

You are a great mechanic.
Based on reading other threads from you and some of the things you do and have done to motorcycles, I doubt I'd have anything for you to try.
Good luck though.
Does it fire if you spray some starter fluid in the intake? I am not as good with the injected bikes but I am wondering if either the injectors are mixed up or the coils. Maybe a short vid so we can hear what is going on?

Hello. I would check the compression level as @Ozsyd600 said and valve clearance. Also if gasoline in tank older a year I recommend to change it.
Hi guys
The comp is average 13 bar
Here are two videos, fuel is fresh

Thanks all for helping

Hi,
I did this engine from 0
Also changed the cams as the others had some degree done to it,now it's bone stock and shims are ok
Compression is checked av 13 bar

It fires the plugs and injectors fine
Even putting fuel straight in..nothing some random farts that's it

Hmm. Very big intrigue, I like it. I would check for TDC on 1st piston do match TDC on ignition mark under its cover.

Also after series of unsuccess starts turn out spark plugs and check are wet or dry.
Seen your video. Did you try to change spark plugs?
Plugs are new
But as this is thrown together engine...one of those client tells "do an engine out of it"
Done, all measured and in place, suspected water in circuit but all good

-shims ok
-new head gasket
-new con and crank bearings
-no head leaks

Getting pssd off with it
Has a stock 24f crank
Will check with a flamethrower soon ;)
I wants to start but as soon it's it's almost there it dies...

Did those?
What about smell of plugs? Gas or smoke?
  • check for cam shaft sensor pin timing is match the valves state of 1st cyl and tdc crank shaft marks.
  • Put in the prev or any other cam shaft to test. If it will start, measure length of pin to ensure equival length.
  • Check for any Err codes
After long cranking it throws cam sensor, swapped and same have done another leak down and cyl one has a lot of loss,but...would it still start on the others that are ok?
Comp average is 13

What pressure do you recommend for the leak down tester? Thanks

Fuel

ECM throw cam error when receive starter signal but dont receive cam signal for 5 sec as I remember. So If you receiver error only after cranking more than 10 sec this could be because long cranking drain out the battery and ecm still receive starter signal but just dont turns in fact or turns too slowly already. I would ignore this.

This may be a hint.
If you have spark then it could be wrong phase or poor compression. But if you really have 13 compression, so wrong ignition phase possible.

Comp average is 13
What about exact values of cyls?

have done another leak down and cyl one has a lot of loss,but...would it still start on the others that are ok?
Very difficult to start on three cyls, I guess.
What pressure do you recommend for the leak down tester? Thanks
Usually it should be not above 7 bar. I think 6 bar will be enough.
I'm doing the test a 3 bars...no leaks at all, neither at 5, this engine is driving me mad, what could electronically impede the engine to start? No fault codes, kickstang ok,switches ok
