I keep getting this message while trying to download a map to my pciii. I have the 9 pin serial connected to a usb adapter and I cannot have my software recognize the commander. I hope someone on here has had this problem and could help me fix it. Thanks

the serial to usb connector doens't work. You need a serial to serial cable.

I think it CAN be done that way, but you have to be pretty computer littereate. You will need to go into devices and see if the computer is naming your USB port as a Com port, and select that com port in the PCIII software at the top (drop down box). Some computers wont select a USB as a com port though, and if that is the case, you need to directly hook up to the serial com port for the PCIII, and move whatever you have there already to the USB to serial adapter if it can be done.
