Looking to give/get help on GSX-R pricing for everyone here including myself.

Additional reason I am bringing this up: I am looking for a new GSX-R (blue) and have found a new (0 mile) 2017 GSX-R1000 still on the floor. I gave them an out the door price of $11K (no tax/title/tags) but they told me no and countered with 12105 (no tax/title/tags) due to shipping and setup. Anyway am I too low on the price even with the bike getting ready to turn 4 years old, being in a non sportbike loving area, they are listing it as 10,999 sale price and it being 2 hours away from me?

$12k don’t sound unreasonable for a brand new bike, the bike may be a few yrs old how ever my understanding of the 1000’s is 2018 and 19 there were next to none imported to America for more than one reason, 1 being there were too many left overs . I can’t speak on the 2020 1000’s . What’s a msrp on a 2020 gsxr 1000’s , is there any major diffrence and can you find one for sale ? If you want to spend 11 and they want 12 try to counter offer 11.5 it can’t hurt to try.

Alright so there's no difference between the 2017 and the 2019 GSXR 1000 bikes at the base level. They're pretty much at the point where they aren't going any lower on the price, so here is where I would say make it 12,000 even and get me tags so I can ride it home and they'll usually do that. You pay the taxes about 3 months later on it at the DMV. That's what I did earlier in the year and it got me a bit off of the price and made it more convenient. If you want it that's what I would do.

You guys are right. Here is the new situation: I have found a 2017 GSXR1000 (R) for $12Kish and it only has 359 miles on it. I have looked it over extensively which includes watching a video with it running and with some revs. Everything looks legit but is it too good to be true? Who put a lot of parts on that kind of bike then lets it sit? The owner says his wife crashed her car and he had to buy her a new one so he put it up to keep it nice with minimal miles. Should I suspect a speedo swap or a speed sensor removal?

12000 for a lightly used bike that your suspect of, or 12,100 for a brand new bike I think for 100$ you can’t buy a piece of mind. If the low miles used bike sounds more appealing bc of the mods I might agree with you. People buy bikes all the time and don’t ride them you find and hear about them all the time. You could do a title/vin search( car fax or similar) to help clear some of your concerns. You can ask the seller what dealership he bought it and have it serviced at to get some more info about the bike.
