i have a 05 gsxr 600 now is that a k8 cause i always see k and a number next to peoples bikes can you tell me whats my k number and what does it mean is it the generation of the bike or what

its just suzuki lingo..... k= 2000 + year of bike like 2001 etc..

the K5 refers to the specific model year of the bike. They started with the K# system in 2001. They used to give them a diffrent letter each year, starting with F in 1985, G in 86', and so on.

yours a k5 or k6? Mine has k5 fairings but its a k6. if yours is a k5 you have k6 fairings

Mine is a K6... I think its a 2006 1000, so from what I have learned Id say its a K6
